I’m looking for some wireless internet service(besides verizon)that offers great service at an affordable price. Can anyone help?

Working on starting up a semi-frequently updated blog. I was hoping to get some advice from some I33t users?

I’m a performing musician moonlighting in web marketing and I want to start a blog with tracking capabilities. I obviously want to integrate my affiliate applications as well. I was thinking of going with Wordpress and Twitter.

Can you guys give a little advice on if you think these are a good choice or if you know of others that are more powerful, unique, etc…? Thanks.

How Do Companies Have The Ability To Give Internet?

December 14, 2009 // Posted in Computer Networking (Tags: , , ) |  4 Comments

I might not have searched right. But how do phone companies, cables, etc etc etc, connect to the internet themselves in order to share it with whoever signs up with them?

Why can’t I get a choice of cable tv/internet companies?

I am disatisfied with my current cable company, but I can’t find an equivalent alternative. What is preventing the market from allowing more than one cable company to compete in an area? The current situation is bad for consumers.

Why does it take internet companies so long to expand to different areas?

Why do internet companies want people to switch to wireless so much?

November 5, 2009 // Posted in Computer Networking (Tags: , , , ) |  2 Comments

I have noticed that internet companies at the moment want people on wireless. BT have just installed wireless for me (free of charge) and there is another company at the moment giving away free laptops when people sign up for wireless internet. I am thinking that this must benefit the company in some way, but how?

in business?

Hello, i’m trying to install an email server software on a Windows 2000 Server but im getting this error.

June 16, 2009 // Posted in Computer Networking (Tags: , , , ) |  1 Comment

The message that i’m getting during the installation of the email server software (hMailServer) is : The hMailServer setup has detected that one or several of the TCP/IP ports 25,110 and 143 are already in use. This indicates that there already is an email server running on this computer. If you plan to use any of these ports with hMailServer, the already existing server must be stopped.

My question is, how can i stop this service or server so i can install and use the hMailServer?

I’m running Windows 2000 Server.
Thanks
