How do internet companies know which house pays for internet connection and which doesn’t?

If I set up two modems in differnet locations, using the same SBC login information, would both work?

No, because each modem has a “MAC” number which is like a identifer to the internet company. If you could clone that MAC number then maybe, but you would still have two different IP address…..

prolly not theres a thing called a mac id number on the modem its registered in to the network to allow access if the mac id on the other modem isnt in the network you wont even conect to the internet let alone be able to use your password and id
