Changing outgoing email name – “From” box not in general opt?

July 6, 2009 // Posted in Personalization

I’m trying to change the outgoing name on my email. I’ve changed it in my profile and I’ve seen the responses on other questions where you should go to Mail Option > General and change the From name. I don’t have a From name in my General options. Need assistance please…

Assuming you are using the old version of YMail, the From box is in fact in Options > General Preferences. It is the first category within General Prefs. Perhaps the page didn’t open properly. Press F5 to reload the page.

That’s really weird. Yes, you should go to General Preferences, and in the Name and Email section there should be a box where you can tye your From name. Go to Yahoo! Help for more info. ♫♪

First off, I’m gonna say thanks for at least TRYING to research the past answers to the question rather than just reasking the same question over again. At least you put in a little effort.

It is in your Mail Options, not under General but under Accounts. Click the link to Add or Edit Accounts, then select your Yahoo Mail Account and Edit it

You should see the Name associated with your email address

ADDITIONAL NOTE: These instructions work if you are using the Yahoo Beta Email. The original is different
